From laid-back lounges to lively dance bars, downtown Austin is full of exciting entertainment options.  One area that has recently become quite popular is the West 6th Street District, the portion of the famous street located between Lavaca and West St.  The area is home to many fine bars, restaurants, and art galleries to check out.

For those seeking an alternative to typical 6th street bars, West 6th Street District offers many unique and classy establishments.  J. Black’s is a lounge-style bar serving unique cocktails and appetizers in a sophisticated setting.  For those who love live music and dancing, Molotov’s is the place to be.  It offers great drinks, two floors of lively entertainment, and a beautiful view of Austin’s skyline from its upper level bar.  If you’re looking for a relaxed night with friends, try Kung Fu Saloon.  It offers indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of arcade and bar games to keep you entertained.

West 6th also has many great dining options.  Katz’s Deli, an Austin favorite since 1983, serves delicious food and drinks 24 hours a day.  The restaurant has gained national attention for their excellent menu items, influenced by New York’s top delis.  Hut’s Hamburger’s is another great eatery in the area.  The restaurant serves old-fashioned hamburgers and sandwiches in a retro diner setting.

The Top Gambler Destination – Las Vegas

Posted on February 26th, 2011 by  |  No Comments »

Formerly, the marketing angle of the Las Vegas tourism board had the nickname of “Sin City”, then in the 1990′s it was touted as a family-friend destination, and after that it went back to Adults Only with its new tagline, “What happens here, stays here”. City advertisers want to attract people from all over the world to their own adult playground, filled with endless gambling, alcohol, food and entertainment. It is a kind of magical place that will cater to every need and fulfill every fantasy.

Las Vegas is a true feast for the eyes, in spite of all the neon. The skyline is amazing, with all of the shining lights and massive shapes competing for attention. All the hotels struggle to top the next one with its own distinctive theme, imposing entrances, rollicking casinos, luscious restaurants, and exciting entertainment. Las Vegas does not have one single boring bone in its whole body.

Hotels are what distinguish the city of Las Vegas, since they are so unique and have very original themes. They are truly incredible to behold. They reverence other unique cities, like New York, Venice, and Paris, by recreating smaller versions of them. The New York, New York hotel reconstructs the bubbly streets of Gotham. The Paris hotel experience comes complete with a replica of the Eiffel Tower. The Venetian hotel has a huge indoor canal with gondolas and gondoliers.

Alpha and Omega ? Movies Reviews

Alpha and Omega” is a new movie 3D on the new movies list this fall. Unfortunately, 3D notwithstanding, it’s a pretty standard romantic comedy (with wolves). It’s full of really stupid jokes that kids will surely like but some of this upcoming moviewill be too frightening for the youngest viewers. This film is just not good enough to be worth the extra cost of a ticket for a 3D movie.

Because there are so many adult movies playing in theaters this fall, this kid’s movie is sure to be a box office movie success. “Alpha and Omega” was released by Lionsgate and opens on September 17th.

This new movie is a Burbank-Mumbai co-production from an Indian corporation, Crest Animation. The background of the movie has a flat, old-fashioned quality that will appeal to some as the CGI shows characters, running, jumping, flying and dancing. Luckily for “Alpha and Omega”, the voice cast is great, including one of the last performances of actor Dennis Hopper.

Hide and Seek Cycle Style

The bicycle version of hide and seek is based on the old classic ‘Hiding’O'Seek’. You can try this game on a small plot of land somewhere or if you have a big garden. The principle of the game is that your child is only allowed to hide where they can hide with their bike. The seeker has to count to thirty and then find the hiders as quickly as possible. The first person to be found is the next seeker. Make sure that you have adults who can help keep control of where the children are going. Make sure they understand where they are not allowed to hide and where they can hide.
